TheSSM2311featuresahighefficiency,lownoisemodulationschemethatdoesnotrequireanyexternalLCoutputfilters.Themodulationcontinuestoprovidehighefficiencyevenatlowoutputpower.Itoperateswith90%efficiencyat1.4Winto8Ωor85%efficiencyat3Winto3Ωfroma5.0VsupplyandhasanSNRthatisbetterthan98dB.Spread-spectrumpulsedensitymodulationisusedtoprovidelowerEMI-radiatedemissionscomparedwithotherClass-Darchitectures.
TheSSM2311hasamicropowershutdownmodewithatypicalshutdowncurrentof20nA.ShutdownisenabledbyapplyingalogiclowtotheSDpin.
Thedevicealsoincludespop-and-clicksuppressioncircuitry.Thisminimizesvoltageglitchesattheoutputduringturn-onandturn-off,thusreducingaudiblenoiseonactivationanddeactivation.
ThefullydifferentialinputoftheSSM2311providesexcellentrejectionofcommon-modenoiseontheinput.Inputcouplingcapacitorscanbeomittedifthedcinputcommon-modevoltageisapproximatelyVDD/2.
ThedefaultgainofSSM2311is18dB,butuserscanreducethegainbyusingapairofexternalresistors(seetheGainsection).TheSSM2311isspecifiedovertheindustrialtemperaturerange(−40°Cto+85°C).Ithasbuilt-inthermalshutdownandoutputshort-circuitprotection.Itisavailableina9-ball,1.5mm×1.5mmwaferlevelchipscalepackage(WLCSP).
